God often takes us down unmarked trails so we can get to know Him better.
We are concerned with where we are going and how long it will take.
He is more concerned about our growth and relationship with him.
I am convinced that God has a plan and purpose for each of our lives, and is actively guiding and empowering us as we seek to know and follow Him.
I have served a pastor, leader, chaplain, and coach.
My pastoral ministry included a broad range of churches, including large and small, growing and struggling, in small towns and inner-city, and in interracial and international congregations. I have served in full-time and bi-vocational pastoral positions. I was the Director of Mental Health for the Syracuse Rescue Mission, and currently serve as a chaplain in a psychiatric center.
I am a member of the Christian Coaches Network International (CCNI) and the International Coach Federation (ICF). My coach training has been through Institute of Life Coach Training (ILCT) and the Professional Christian Coaching Institute (PCCI). I have a Doctor of Ministry from Eastern Baptist Theological Seminary (now Palmer Theological Seminary of Eastern University) and a Master of Divinity degree from Gordon Conwell Theological Seminary.
I love to encourage and coach people.
My passion is to help people discover their gifts, clarify their direction, move forward to reach their goals, and grow personally and spiritually as they seek and following God’s leading and grow closer to him.
I appreciate and value diversity.
God has given me many opportunities to know and work with people from different races, places and perspectives. I want to be a catalyst and facilitator in building bridges of understanding, cooperation and relationships between individuals and groups from different backgrounds
I am inspired by human resilience.
I am humbled and inspired by the lives and resilience of people I know and work with who have faced various disabilities, illnesses, and challenges. I see God’s strength revealed in and through their lives. My oldest son was born with severe disabilities and has constantly surprised and inspired me and many others as he lives and enjoys life. He even turned a “60 Minutes” story around, without a word.
How do I enjoy life?
I love to spend time with my children and grandchildren. My family is at the heart of my life. I am blessed with great friends. I enjoy meeting new people and exploring new places. I like to swim and hike. I like to learn and gain new perspectives and insights. I enjoy spending time with God, listening and responding to His voice, getting to know him on this unpredictable journey.
I enjoy helping and inspiring others to Trust God and Enjoy Life more fully. This is my hope and prayer for my children and grandchildren, my family and friends, my coworkers and clients, my neighbors and the world.
